Your job is rarely just the job. It is the person you report to. Some managers bring clarity, encouragement and growth. Others leave people guessing or quietly frustrated. The interesting thing is most managers were never actually taught how to manage people. Which means many of us spend the early part of our careers learning how to navigate that relationship.

This conversation evening explores the influence a manager has on our work experience and what we can do about it. We will unpack three simple conversations that often sit behind the best working relationships, and the surprisingly simple yet powerful questions that help create them.

About Jason:

Jason has a fascination with human behaviour, and seeks to understand what it takes to bring out the best in people. He’s studied in the areas of employment relations, marketing, and sociology, and had a 20-year career in sales and marketing. He’s managed teams and marketed iconic brands like NESCAFÉ, KLEENEX, and HUGGIES.
